Located 20 miles north of Tucson, the Stone Canyon Club is one of Arizona’s top modern desert golf courses. Opened in 2000, it represents a high point in the distinguished golf course design career of architect Jay Morrish. Elevated tees, boulder-strewn desert scenery and deep bunkers border the sinewy fairways and smallish greens. The course is the centerpiece of a high-end private residential development, and is part of the (Phil) Mickelson Private Golf Network along with northern Arizona standouts The Rim Golf Club and Chaparral Pines Golf Club. The club hosted the third edition of ‘The Match’ in November 2020, pitting Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley against Stephen Curry and Peyton Manning.
